Understanding how important innovation, efficiency, and execution are for our brokers' daily work life and how they are served by the tools that we are developing is key. In the end, we are all customers of insurance in some way, and we should provide our brokers the ability to commit to a level of service that we would expect for ourselves.

Natasha started work life about as far removed from Insurtech as possible, working as Assistant Editor for 2 Montreal fashion and lifestyle magazines. As exciting and fast paced as publishing was, it did not take long to realize it would not be stimulating long term. Looking for a new challenge led Natasha to software development.

Over the last 17 years she has assisted, then Keal and now Vertafore Canada, with delivering the right products for the Canadian broker channel. First as a developer, she focused her attention to detail on ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative solutions that are key to exceptional customer experience.

For the past 5 years in a management role and as part of the Vertafore Canada Executive Team, Natasha has focused on building the right team, not only through supporting and motivating development teams, but through close alignment with Product Management to ensure the company's commitment to customer success.

Natasha’s 5 Fast Facts:

1. What do you love most about your role at Vertafore?

The strength of Vertafore Canada comes from the people. I get the opportunity to work everyday with the most awesome team who share a dedication to bringing innovation, value, and support to our customers.

2. How did you get into the InsurTech business?

It was purely accidental! A need for a new challenge lead me to development and that led me to Insurtech. The fast pace of change in both the insurance and technology industries keeps me challenged, while developing innovative solutions that help drive the broker channel forward keeps me inspired.

3. What are you most excited about for the future of InsurTech?

There is phenomenal momentum and appetite in InsurTech right now for new solutions that will reduce the amount of work required for brokers to be successful in their day-to-day business. Industry collaboration, integrations, automation, and easy access to data insights are allowing brokers to spend less time managing their business and more time for the relationship building that both brokers and their customers still want.

4. What’s your idea of the perfect weekend?

Spending time with my family no matter what we are doing. Looking for new adventures, trying out new recipes, taking little trips or sometimes quietly reading a book. As long as there is minimal screen time, it’s a great weekend!

5. I’m coming to visit you! What are your favorite/must-do things in your city?

It really depends on the season. From wall-to-wall festivals, walking around the Old Port or a hike up Mount Royal in the summer, to skating at Beaver Lake followed by drinks at the Ice Bar in the winter, there is always something exciting to do. No matter what season it is, the incredible diversity in Montreal assures an exciting dining experience.
